Burnt River—Oregon Gold Mining Claims |
SOLD!! Burnt River in Oregon is an interesting area in that the origional gold strikes here took place during the Civil War, and the region started out with a history of being overlooked. Much of the ground in the area was worked later by large dredges that, due to the economics of the times, went for the backstrap, and left the chuck steak.
Of course, numerious river washed concentrations grade much higher, making this a fun place "at the very least" for a surface dredge of a size lare enough to deal with 6 to 8 inch river rock. The rest of the property is in dry high bank placers being worked by the present owners with a 2 to 5 yards an hour trommel. Some sampling of the exposed bars has run to $80 per yard, but the bulk of the property averages $10 per yard. Measured faces of 72 x 8 x 84 feet, and 155 x 4 x 20, and 200 x 5 x 60 (see photos) contribute to a total measured tonnage of 105,890 yards. Asking price: $200,000.00 USD |
