These California, Mother Lode, gold claims are known as The Ken, The Millie and Grand Finale.
Located about 29 miles west of Susanville on the North Fork of the Feather River in a historical gold mining area inPlumas County, California within the old Butte gold mining district where mining began in the 1850’s. There was substantial placer gold mined from the Feather River and its tributaries. Placer gold occurred in both Tertiary channels above the Feather River and its tributaries, and the present river and tributary gravels. There are two Tertiary channels on this property, one channel crosses the property and the other channel runs length wise of the property.
Plumas County California historically has produced five (5) million ounces of gold and many areas are still producing today.
Access to these claims are by way of Senaca Road, which begins at Highway 89 near the east side of Lake Almanor Dam. The road goes in a general southerly direction along the east side of the Feather River Canyon. It is paved for about the first four miles, then dirt for about two miles to a bridge over the Feather River. After crossing the river there is a dirt road which bears northerly along the west bank
of the river leading to these gold claims.
